The best photos you can have for your business right now.

If investing in photography is something you are considering, or you have done in the past without a great success, this article may help you decide how to get the most value for money, what type of images may serve you longer, and ultimately, what photos you really need right now.

FIRST THINGS FIRST

Before hiring and commissioning new photos, take a moment.

Look at your brand and existing visual content. What’s there already? What’s working for you and what’s missing? What are your competitors doing? What is urgently needed and what is desirable in order to elevate your brand?

LET’S BREAK IT DOWN

I’m here to help!

YOUR ONLINE SHOP

If you are selling online, good quality product photos are a must. Your clients would like to see the products one by one, and zoom in to appreciate the details. It is helpful to have at least two images per product, so when you go over the photo with your mouse, you see the second version, or a close up of the product in question.

Make a priority to invest in product photography, so your shop looks tidy, consistent and professional. It is hard to achieve this with a phone at home. This one is one to outsource.

Imagine receiving a link with professional photos of all your products ready to be populated on your website with one click. DONE.

Example of product photography for Artist Anita Reynolds. Make it easy to showcase products together.

Example of product photography for Donegal Sea Glass. Consistency is key.

Product Photography for L’art Du Chocolate. Elevate your online shop experience.

YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA

I don’t know how many times a week I hear clients and colleagues say

I just don’t know what to post on social media’

Hand in my heart, I have the solution for this. Not only I can give you material so you don’t run out of things to post, I can make you fall in love with your feed and social again.

We often take for granted the things we see every day.

Your studio. Your view. Your work. Your creativity.

When you invite me for a branding session, we spend a few of hours together creating beautiful images of you and your work that will make you proud and eager to share with the world.

I know for some of you getting in front of the camera is nerve wrecking. This comment from a recent client made me smile:

‘There's even a good few of me I like which is a brilliant achievement!’

Imagine this. You are stuck wondering what to post. You open your gallery, one photo catches your eye immediately; it relates to something you are experiencing or working on at the moment. Put a caption. Post. DONE.

Branding images are a big win. They showcase the work behind the final product, your brand and personality. Publications love them. They can be re-purposed many times and in different ways.

And most importantly, they sell.

TOP TIP: they will serve you for a very, very long time, saving you money in the long run.

LIFESTYLE PHOTOS

Alongside product photos are lifestyle shots. You can’t go wrong having a variety of styled images. Great for banners, front covers, main menus on your website, social media, etc. Once you have covered the basics, which are your online shop needs, I suggest looking into styled images of your products in context. Think of flatlays, products being used. These photos will elevate your brand and attract audience.

This click could be a game changer!
